Al Copeland Patient Assistance Fund
Breaking Barriers
to Care
The Al Copeland Foundation Patient Assistance Fund was established in 2022 to help remove financial barriers for families of children undergoing cancer treatment.
Originally created to support patients at Manning Family Children’s, the program expanded in 2025 to include Ochsner Children’s. Today, the fund provides grants to eligible families at both hospitals to help cover essential expenses such as housing and utility bills, transportation, groceries, lodging, supplemental medications, and other everyday needs during treatment.
By easing these financial burdens, families can focus on what matters most: their child’s care and recovery.
