9 Days of Al Copeland
Al Copeland Day (June 28th) - National Fried Chicken Day (July 6th)
9 Days of Al Copeland
What is it?
For nine days each summer, the community comes together to celebrate the legacy of Al Copeland Sr. while helping families facing one of life’s toughest battles.
The annual 9 Days of Al Copeland campaign supports the Al Copeland Foundation Patient Assistance Program, which helps ease the financial burden that often comes with cancer treatment.
From June 28 through July 6, every donation made through participating Copeland’s Family of Restaurants locations goes directly toward helping patients and families in need and every dollar donated is matched by the Copeland family.

Why it Matters
A cancer diagnosis impacts more than a patient’s health. Families are often faced with unexpected travel expenses, hotel stays, missed work, meals on the road, and countless day-to-day costs while trying to focus on treatment and recovery.
The Patient Assistance Program exists to help relieve some of that stress so families can focus on what matters most: healing.
Every contribution helps provide real support for real families in our community.
Since 2023:
$436,000
Has been allocated to the Patient Assistance Fund.
$1,291
Is the average grant amount awarded per family assistance request.
275
Since the opening of the fund 275 families have received assistance.
